Abstract

Usury and interest are practices that can be interpreted as additional profit-seeking in economic activities such as transactions and loans, so this is prohibited in the Islamic perspective because it is considered to contain injustice and unjust behavior. Although there are some differences in the opinion of interest, Islamic banking has held strict principles that prohibit the involvement of usury and interest in its activities, so this is an option for people who really want to avoid forms of financial transaction activities that contain usury and interest. Islamic banking also adheres to the principles of Mudharabah, Murabahah, and Musyarakah where profits and losses have been shared according to the agreement, so this is contrary to the interest system in conventional banking.
