Working students may have their own source of income, yet employment does not necessarily protect them from financial stress. This study aims to assess financial stress based on income among working students, with financial awareness as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was employed involving 89 working students as respondents. Income was treated as the independent variable, financial stress as the dependent variable, and financial awareness as the moderating variable. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that income has a significant negative effect on financial stress, meaning that higher income is associated with lower levels of financial stress among working students. The MRA results further reveal that the interaction between income and financial awareness significantly affects financial stress, with a negative interaction coefficient. This indicates that financial awareness strengthens the negative relationship between income and financial stress. The findings suggest that financial stress is not determined solely by the amount of income individuals receive, but also by their level of awareness regarding their financial condition. The research model explains 29.8% of the variance in financial stress, while the remaining 70.2% is attributable to factors outside the model.
