Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the national economy. However, they continue to face challenges in inventory and financial management due to inaccurate record-keeping and low levels of digital literacy. This study aims to analyze the effect of inventory management digitalization on the financial capabilities of MSMEs and identify the factors that support and hinder its implementation. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected by documenting relevant scientific articles and then analyzed through selection, categorization, and synthesis based on the themes of benefits, challenges, and the impact of digitalization. The findings indicate that inventory management digitalization positively affects the financial capabilities of MSMEs through three pathways. First, digitalization improves working capital efficiency, thereby maintaining liquidity. Second, digitalization reduces operational costs. Third, digitalization improves the accuracy of financial reports, facilitating access to formal financing. However, these benefits do not arise automatically. The outcomes depend on business owners' digital literacy, employee readiness, and ongoing assistance. The main barriers to implementation are low digital literacy, limited capital, uneven internet access, and inadequate data security. Therefore, improving digital literacy, strengthening human resource competencies, and providing assistance from relevant institutions and the government are necessary to ensure that inventory management digitalization delivers optimal benefits to MSMEs.
