Abstract

Abstract - This study aims to analyze the effect of career development and extrinsic work motivation on employee performance. The research method employed is a quantitative method with an associative approach to examine the relationships and effects among variables. The research data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 52 respondents who are company employees. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, in which the entire population was included as the research sample. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 30 through descriptive statistical analysis, instrument testing, classical assumption tests, simple and multiple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficients, coefficients of determination, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that, partially, career development has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.861 and a contribution effect of 74.1%. The t-test results show that the calculated t-value of 11.950 is greater than the t-table value of 2.009, with a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Furthermore, extrinsic work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, as indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.826 and a contribution effect of 68.3%. The t-test results show that the calculated t-value of 10.370 is greater than the t-table value of 2.009, with a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Simultaneously, career development and extrinsic work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This is demonstrated by a correlation coefficient of 0.863 and a coefficient of determination of 74.5%, as well as the F-test results showing that the calculated F-value of 71.473 is greater than the F-table value of 3.187, with a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that career development and extrinsic work motivation play an important role in sustainably improving employee performance.
