Abstract

This study describes the comparison of the poem Reflection of an Old Fighter by Taufiq Ismail and the poem Liwat Tengah Hari by Bur Rasuanto. The purpose of this study is to describe the comparison of literary representations regarding the Tritura demonstration in 1966. This study uses content analysis whose data sources are obtained from the poem Reflection of an Old Fighter by Taufiq Ismail and the poem Liwat Tengah Hari by Bur Rasuanto using a comparative literature approach. The results of this study are the relationship between the similarity of the context of the Tritura event with different representations that can be seen from the authorship of the writer in the poem Reflection of an Old Fighter by Taufiq Ismail and the poem Liwat Tengah Hari by Bur Rasuanto. if linked to the biography of the poet, a deeper meaning will be found. Bur Rasuanto in writing the poem Liwat Tengah Hari tends to dare to criticize, this is because of Bur's background who is a person who has a hard life and critical thinking. The experience of going to Vietnam during the war is a courage that not everyone has, so that at that time, he also became a participant in the Tritura demonstration. Meanwhile, Taufiq Ismail describes his poetry with passion, as he was an active student during his time as a student. His poem also depicts student activity in demonstrations.
