Abstract

Mahasiswa Generasi Z tumbuh di era digital yang memungkinkan konektivitas sosial yang luas, namun paradoksnya mereka justru rentan mengalami loneliness (kesepian). Salah satu reaksi yang muncul akibat kesepian adalah attention seeking behavior (perilaku mencari perhatian), yaitu kecenderungan individu untuk mencari pengakuan, persetujuan, atau validasi sosial dari lingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara loneliness dan attention seeking behavior pada mahasiswa Generasi Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sebanyak 125 mahasiswa aktif yang lahir antara tahun 1997–2012 dilibatkan sebagai responden. Pengukuran loneliness menggunakan UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 (Russell, 1996), sedangkan attention seeking behavior diukur menggunakan Attention Seeking Scale (Hawk et al., 2019). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson’s Product Moment melalui JASP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara loneliness dan attention seeking behavior (r = 0,188; p = 0,035), yang berarti semakin tinggi tingkat kesepian mahasiswa Generasi Z, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan mereka untuk menampilkan perilaku mencari perhatian.
