This study is motivated by the importance of examining the Finnish education system, which is widely recognized as one of the most successful education systems in the world due to its emphasis on equity, teacher professionalism, and student-centered learning approaches. The aim of this research is to analyze the Finnish education system comprehensively, identify its main problems, and examine the educational policies implemented to maintain and improve its quality. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, where data are collected from secondary sources such as academic books, peer-reviewed journals, international reports, and relevant scholarly publications. The data analysis technique used is content analysis, involving the classification and interpretation of information based on the main focus of the study. The findings reveal that the Finnish education system is built on principles of educational equity, high teacher professionalism, formative assessment, and a flexible curriculum that grants substantial autonomy to schools and teachers. However, the system also faces several challenges, including increasing student diversity due to immigration, declining student motivation in certain levels, and the pressures of technological advancement and globalization. The educational policies implemented in Finland, such as free education, decentralized governance, and research-based teacher education, play a crucial role in maintaining the system’s quality. The implications of this study suggest that the success of an education system depends not only on policy structure but also on effective implementation, teacher quality, and adaptability to continuous social change.
