Analisis Kemampuan Berbicara Melalui Metode Bercerita pada Siswa Kelas II SDN 0506 Tangga Bosi

Speaking ability is an essential language skill that should be developed in elementary school students. This study aimed to analyze the speaking ability of second-grade students at SDN 0506 Tangga Bosi through the storytelling method. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 17 students, consisting of 9 boys and 8 girls. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The findings revealed that 12 students were able to speak fluently, while 5 students still experienced hesitation when telling stories. In addition, 10 students confidently performed in front of the class, whereas 7 students had difficulties using appropriate intonation. Interview results also indicated that most students became more confident after participating in storytelling activities. Therefore, the storytelling method effectively supports the development of students' speaking ability, particularly in fluency, pronunciation, intonation, and self-confidence.
