Amanat dalam Novel Orang-Orang Oetimu Karya Felix K. Nesi

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is what messages (amanat) are contained in the novel Orang-Orang Oetimu by Felik K. Nesi. Accordingly, this study aims to describe the messages contained in the novel Orang-Orang Oetimu by Felik K. Nesi, and its benefits are; (1). To provide guidelines for readers so that they take good messages and avoid moral messages that are not in accordance with prevailing customs through the stories they read. (2). To be useful as comparative material with other scientific works. (3). To contribute to Indonesian language development in general and literature in particular. The theory used in this research is literary structuralism with a working procedure of identifying and analyzing the messages. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach. The data collection technique used is the reading and note-taking technique. The results of the study show that the messages in the novel Orang-Orang Oetimu can be grouped into four categories, namely social solidarity, empathy and humanitarian concern, resilience in facing difficulties, and sacrifice and love in family relationships. These four categories indicate the dominant moral values in the novel and are relevant to community life.
