Hubungan Self-Compassion Dengan Regulasi Emosi Pada Mahasiswa

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-compassion and emotion regulation in students of Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. The term student is often associated with higher education which often experiences symptoms of depression due to the transition from youth to adulthood. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved 134 students who were selected using probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling methods and using the G*Power application with a medium effect size to determine the sample size. The data collection technique used is the emotion regulation scale and self-compassion scale which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques use assumption tests with normality and linearity tests, as well as hypothesis testing with simple linear regression analysis and Spearman's correlation. The results of this study indicate that self-compassion has a significant positive role on emotion regulation. This finding indicates that the lower the self-compassion, the lower the level of emotion regulation, and conversely the higher the emotion regulation, the higher the self-compassion. This study provides important implications for the development of support programs in understanding the relationship between self-compassion and emotion regulation in college students. By proposing the exploration of other variables that may play a role in this relationship, further research can enrich the insights into the factors of self-compassion and emotion regulation in college students
