Abstract

Scientific research plays a crucial role in supporting evidence-based public policy development amidst global complexities. By leveraging data and scientific findings, policymakers can formulate relevant, effective, and sustainable policies. However, a significant communication gap exists between academic communities and policymakers, hindering research implementation. This gap is exacerbated by political, economic, and public opinion pressures influencing policy decisions. This article emphasizes bridging this gap through simplifying research findings, enhancing cross-sectoral collaboration, and strengthening commitments to scientific facts. By taking these steps, scientific research can be optimized to support improved public policy development.
