Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between adversity intelligence and peer support on the self-adjustment of new students at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. New students often face challenges when starting college, because they have to adapt to various aspects, both intellectual, social, and emotional. Using a quantitative research design and correlational approach, the sample consisted of 134 new students who were randomly selected or with a rendom sampling technique using the G*Power application. The data collection techniques used are self-adjustment scale, adversity intelligence scale, and peer support scale which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques use assumption tests with normality and linearity tests, as well as hypothesis testing with multiple regression analysis and Spearman correlation. The results of the analysis show that adversity intelligence has a highly significant relationship with self-adjustment, while peer support shows a weak and insignificant relationship. These findings indicate the importance of developing adversity intelligence among freshmen to improve their adjustment ability in the academic environment.
