This study aims to examine various orientation strategies applied in the manufacturing industry at the regency and city levels and their impact on the industry's competitiveness. The method used is a literature review by analyzing relevant journals and scientific articles. The results show that market orientation and innovation orientation are the dominant strategies that can improve the performance and competitiveness of regional manufacturing industries. However, several challenges such as limited human resources and technology access affect the implementation of these strategies. Support from local governments and collaboration among industry players, academics, and educational institutions are essential to optimize orientation strategies. This study provides an important overview of the role of orientation strategies in driving the growth of manufacturing industries at the local level
