PERNIKAHAN DI BAWAH UMUR DAN PENGARUH TERHADAP KEHARMONISAN RUMAH TANGGA (Studi Kasus Di Desa Bandung Kecamatan Diwek Kabupaten Jombang)

Abstract

This study aims to identify the causes of underage marriage and its impact on household harmony in Bandung Village, Diwek Subdistrict, Jombang Regency. The background of this research is the increasing rate of underage marriages, which negatively affects family life—psychologically, socially, and economically. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the main causes of underage marriage are economic factors, low levels of education, environmental influences, and tradition. The impacts on household harmony include a lack of emotional maturity, communication difficulties, economic pressure, and vulnerability to domestic conflict. This study recommends the need for public education and awareness, as well as active government involvement in preventing underage marriage
