Penerapan Teori Dualitas pada Permasalahan Jadwal Transportasi untuk Menentukan Biaya Minimum Distribusi Tiket Kereta Api

Transportation schedule management, especially in the railway sector, requires a rigorous mathematical approach so that route distribution and departure times can be implemented efficiently. One method that can be applied to reduce operational costs in this distribution system is linear programming. In this case, the duality theory offers an alternative solution as well as a strategic understanding of resource optimization. This study explores the application of duality theory in the case of intercity train ticket distribution, with the aim of designing departure schedules from various origin stations to destination stations in an optimal way. The primal model is developed first to reduce costs, then converted into a dual form to analyze the economic value of each variable. The analysis carried out shows that the dual method can provide solutions that are in line with the primal model, as well as presenting important information in schedule planning and transportation cost management.
