Analisis Implementasi Model Dan Media Pembelajaran Serta Keterlibatan Siswa Pada Pembelajaran IPAS Kelas III SDN 95/II Muara Bungo

This study was motivated by the low level of student engagement in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning despite the teacher's implementation of learning models and instructional media. The study aimed to analyze the implementation of the learning model and instructional media used by the teacher and to identify the factors contributing to the low level of student engagement in Grade III IPAS learning at SDN 95/II Muara Bungo. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving the Grade III teacher and students as the research participants. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The trustworthiness of the data was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings revealed that the teacher had implemented the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model; however, its implementation was not consistent across all learning sessions. The use of visual media in the form of instructional videos presented through an LCD projector increased students' attention, enthusiasm, confidence in answering questions, and participation in classroom activities. In contrast, when instruction relied solely on textbooks and the lecture method due to limited school facilities, student engagement declined and the learning process became more teacher-centered. The low level of student engagement was influenced by the limited use of instructional media, the inconsistent implementation of the CTL components, the lack of variety in learning activities, and inadequate school facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, the consistent implementation of the CTL model accompanied by the use of visual media can enhance student engagement in IPAS learning.
