PENGARUH MEDIA AUDIO-VISUAL TERHADAP CAPAIAN KOMPETENSI DASAR TEKNIK MENJAHIT GULBI SISWA SMK

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low achievement of student learning outcomes in the basic competency of gulbi sewing techniques, caused by the limitations of the media used and the large classroom size. Visual limitations and voice range constraints often make it difficult for students to fully capture procedural details, especially in the precise installation of zippers. Based on this, this study aims to describe the feasibility level of audio-visual media in the form of video tutorials and to analyze its effect on improving the achievement of basic competency in gulbi sewing techniques among vocational high school students. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, conducted over two cycles at SMK Negeri 1 Bojonegoro. The research subjects were 35 Phase E Fashion Design 1 students. Data collection instruments included material and media expert validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of teacher and student activities, as well as learning outcome tests covering cognitive and psychomotor domains. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative descriptive techniques to measure the effectiveness of the media. The results of the study show that the video tutorial media was declared highly valid by the validators, with a classical average score of 83.8%. The implementation of learning showed a significant improvement from Cycle I to Cycle II, indicating that the learning process had been carried out very well. A positive impact was also observed in learning outcomes, with classical completeness rising sharply from only 20% (7 students) in Cycle I to 86% (30 students) in Cycle II. In conclusion, the application of audio-visual video tutorial media is proven to be highly effective in improving motivation and the achievement of basic competency in gulbi sewing techniques among vocational high school students.
