The development of modernization, globalization, and digital technology presents challenges to students’ character formation, including bullying, academic dishonesty, individualism, and declining respect for educators. This study aims to analyze the concept of adab in Islamic educational philosophy and its relevance to contemporary character education. This research employed a qualitative approach through library research with a philosophical-descriptive approach. The data were derived from classical and contemporary works on Islamic educational philosophy, particularly the thoughts of Al-Ghazali, Ibn Miskawayh, Ibn Khaldun, and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, as well as relevant scholarly literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis by identifying the etymological, terminological, philosophical, and educational dimensions of adab. The findings indicate that adab serves as a foundation for developing individuals who possess knowledge, morality, and spiritual awareness. The concept of ta'dib emphasizes the integration of faith, knowledge, and deeds, teacher role modeling, spiritual purification, habituation, and adab-based digital literacy. Therefore, the reactualization of adab is relevant as a philosophical foundation for character education in the digital era.
