Analisis Biliometrik: Menemukenali Konsep Etika dan Sikap Konselor Profesional dalam Bimbingan dan Konseling

Abstract

Counselors are professionals who have responsibilities in providing guidance and counseling services according to clients’ needs. In providing services, counselors require not only knowledge and skills but also personal qualities, professional attitudes, awareness of strengths and limitations, and an understanding of professional ethics. This study aims to map research developments concerning counselors’ personal and professional strengths and limitations from the perspective of professional ethics in guidance and counseling. This study uses bibliometric analysis based on Scopus-indexed publications from 2021 to 2026. The data were analyzed using VOSviewer through keyword co-occurrence mapping presented in network visualization, overlay visualization, and density visualization. Based on the analyzed data, 586 documents produced five major thematic clusters. These themes include counseling and therapy processes, cultural competence and diversity, school counseling, measurement and instrument development, and themes related to genetic counselors, assessment, identity, and life. The mapping results indicate that research on counselors has developed from discussions of counselors, clients, schools, and identity toward cultural competence, community, inclusion, supervision, ethical practice, and instrument development and validation. These findings indicate that counselors’ strengths and limitations are related to personal qualities, professional competence, self-awareness, the ability to deal with diversity, and the ability to adapt to developments in counseling services.
