Metode Keteladanan Dalam Meningkatkan Perilaku Jujur Siswa Mts Guppi Padas Ngawi

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role model method in improving honest behavior in students at MTs GUPPI Padas Ngawi. Honesty is a fundamental character value that must be instilled from an early age, and teachers play a crucial role as role models in shaping this attitude. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and the madrasah principal. The results showed that the role model method was highly effective in fostering honest behavior in students. Teachers' role models were evident in their attitudes, words, and concrete actions, such as keeping promises, being fair, and giving students confidence during exams without close supervision. Furthermore, the supportive school environment and religious activities such as congregational prayer, tadarus (Islamic religious study), and morning sermons (kultum) also strengthened students' honesty values. Supporting factors for implementing this method include emotional closeness between teachers and students, consistent teacher behavior, and parental and community involvement. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included a lack of control over the outside-of-school environment, the influence of social media, and students' weak awareness of the importance of honesty. The conclusion of this study is that teacher role models have a significant influence on the development of students' honest character. Role models are not only a learning method but also the most effective foundation for character education. Therefore, synergy between teachers, parents, and the school environment is needed to create a sustainable culture of honesty.
