SEJARAH LAHIRNYA PANCASILA DAN PROSES PERUMUSANNYA MELALUI SIDANG BPUPKI DAN PPKI

Abstract

Pancasila is the foundational ideology of the Republic of Indonesia, playing a vital role in shaping the nation’s identity, direction, and worldview. The birth of Pancasila cannot be separated from the long struggle of Indonesia’s founding fathers in seeking a unifying foundation for the entire nation. This study aims to explain the history of the birth of Pancasila and the process of its formulation through the sessions of the Badan Penyelidik Usaha-usaha Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (BPUPKI) and the Panitia Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (PPKI). The method used is a literature study by reviewing various historical sources and official documents from the BPUPKI and PPKI sessions. The results show that the idea of the national foundation was first proposed by Ir. Soekarno during the BPUPKI session on June 1, 1945, which is now commemorated as the birth of Pancasila. After undergoing further formulation and discussion in subsequent BPUPKI and PPKI sessions, Pancasila was officially established on August 18, 1945, as the state foundation of Indonesia, stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.
