Peran Supervisi Kepala Sekolah Terhadap Profesionalisme Guru di Era Merdeka Belajar

This study aims to analyze the role of principal supervision in improving teacher professionalism in the era of Independent Learning. Principal supervision is one of the managerial functions that focuses on coaching, mentoring, and improving teacher competence in order to be able to carry out an effective, innovative, and learner-centered learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation of principals and teachers in several public elementary schools. The results showed that principal supervision plays an important role in developing teacher professionalism through academic supervision, clinical supervision, and learning reflection. Supervision that is carried out in a planned and continuous manner is able to encourage teachers to improve their pedagogical abilities, professional competence, and commitment to their duties. In addition, the adaptation of supervision to the Free Learning Policy makes the coaching process more flexible, collaborative, and needs-based for teachers. Thus, the active role of school principals in carrying out humanist and participatory supervision is a key factor in improving the quality of education in education units.
