Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students' civic awareness through Civic Education (PKn) instruction at the elementary school level. Civic awareness is a crucial component in shaping students' character and social responsibility as members of the Indonesian nation. Civic education is expected to instill civic values, such as rights and obligations, tolerance, and a sense of nationalism from an early age. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving elementary school students as respondents. Data were collected through interviews designed to measure students' understanding of the concept of citizenship, their attitudes toward their role as citizens, and the influence of external factors such as family support, quality of learning, and social environment. The results indicate that the main factors influencing students' civic awareness are the quality of Civic Education instruction, parental support, and student participation in social activities outside of school. Furthermore, successfully delivering Civic Education material in an interactive and enjoyable manner also increases students' interest in civic issues. This research is expected to provide insights for the development of more effective Civic Education learning methods and have a positive impact on fostering a higher level of civic awareness among elementary school students.
