Pengaruh LLDIKTI Wilayah X dalam Pengembangan Koleksi Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi : Studi Kasus di Sumatera Barat

University libraries play a strategic role in supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), namely education, research, and community service, through the provision of relevant, up-to-date, and high-quality information sources. One crucial aspect of library management is collection development, which includes planning, selection, acquisition, maintenance, and evaluation of library materials to ensure they are in line with the needs of the academic community and developments in science and technology. In the context of higher education in Indonesia, the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) plays an important role as a supervisory and facilitating institution for universities in its working area, including in efforts to improve the quality of library management. This study aims to analyze the influence of LLDIKTI Region X in the development of university library collections in West Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data were obtained through a review of national scientific journals, books, policy documents, and relevant institutional reports published in the last five years. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques by grouping findings into main themes, such as the role of LLDIKTI policies, increasing the capacity of library human resources, and challenges in collection development. The results of the study show that LLDIKTI Region X has a significant but indirect influence through policy guidance, librarian training, and strengthening institutional awareness. However, the effectiveness of this influence is highly dependent on the internal commitment of higher education institutions, particularly leadership support, internal policies, and budget availability, thus requiring continuous synergy between LLDIKTI and higher education institutions.
