ANALISIS POTENSI BAHAYA PADA PROSES HEADING DAN ROLLING DENGAN METODE JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSA)

Abstract

The manufacturing industry has a high level of occupational health and safety (OHS) risk, particularly in production processes involving machinery and manual activities. PT. XYZ, a metal component manufacturing company, operates heading and rolling processes that have the potential to generate various occupational hazards. Accident data over the past three years show that there were three cases in 2022, one case in 2023, and one case in 2024, indicating that the production department has a significant hazard potential. Problems identified in the heading and rolling processes include workers being caught in heading and rolling machines, high noise levels in the work area, oil and lubricant spills on the production floor, as well as excessive dust and fumes. Using the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method, several potential hazards were identified in the heading and rolling processes, including workers being scratched by wire, non-ergonomic machine setting positions, excessive noise exposure, slipping due to oil spills, high ambient temperatures, and electrical hazards that may cause electric shock. Based on the JSA results, risk control recommendations were formulated using the hierarchy of controls, including engineering controls, administrative controls, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
