Abstract

The development of digital technology has led to significant changes in students’ behavior patterns, particularly in the use of social media as a medium for learning and entrepreneurial development. This study aims to theoretically examine the influence of social media usage on students’ entrepreneurial interest. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method. Data were collected through a systematic review of 30 relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. The data collection technique involved documentation of scholarly literature, while data analysis was conducted using content analysis and thematic analysis to identify patterns, concepts, and key findings related to social media usage and students’ entrepreneurial interest. The results of the study indicate that social media plays an important role in increasing students’ entrepreneurial interest by enhancing entrepreneurial knowledge, shaping positive attitudes toward entrepreneurship, increasing motivation and entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and providing social support through digital communities. Social media also reduces initial barriers to entrepreneurship by offering broad access to markets and business-related information. However, the impact of social media is strongly influenced by students’ digital literacy and entrepreneurial knowledge. This study concludes that social media is a strategic factor in developing students’ entrepreneurial interest in the digital era and should be optimally integrated into entrepreneurship education in higher education institutions.
