Abstract

This research is entitled "The Tri Dharma House of Worship (TITD) Cao Fuk Miao Facing the Context of Covid-19 Dynamics in Denpasar City, Bali, 2020-2024." During the 2020–2024 period, the Covid-19 pandemic impacted the religious, social, and cultural activities of the Tri Dharma community, including restrictions on worship services and congregational gatherings. There are three research questions posed in this study, namely: (1) How did the role of the Tri Dharma House of Worship TITD Cao Fuk Miao change from the early stages of the pandemic to the post-pandemic period? (2) What strategies and forms of adaptation were implemented in response to the dynamics of the Covid-19 pandemic in Denpasar City, Bali? (3) What are the implications of the Tri Dharma House of Worship (TITD) facing the context of Covid-19 dynamics in Denpasar City, Bali? This study aims to examine the changes in role, adaptation strategies, and implications experienced by the Tri Dharma House of Worship (TITD) Cao Fuk Miao during the Covid-19 pandemic in Denpasar, Bali. The research method used in this study is the historical method, which consists of four stages: heuristics, external and internal criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This research also employs Social Change Theory, Role Theory, and one of the core issues in historical theory, namely historical explanation. These theories serve as the foundation for exploring and reconstructing data in this study. The results of this study indicate that the Tri Dharma House of Worship (TITD) Cao Fuk Miao was able to adapt by implementing health protocols, digitizing religious activities, and strengthening social solidarity through social assistance programs. Overall, this research confirms that TITD not only functions as a place of worship but also as a center for reinforcing social, cultural, and spiritual values during and after the pandemic.
