Pemanfaatan Media Sosial Instagram dalam Promosi Layanan Perpustakaan Khusus Kepolisian Daerah Sumatra Barat

The special library within the West Sumatra Regional Police has a strategic role as a center of information and literacy for police officers and related parties, but limited direct visits by library users require more innovative and adaptive promotional strategies in line with developments in digital technology. One medium with great potential in supporting the promotion of library services is Instagram, which has a wide reach and high usage among the public. This study aims to analyze the use of Instagram in promoting the services of the West Sumatra Regional Police Special Library, focusing on promotional strategies, types of content used, user engagement levels, and the effectiveness of social media in increasing the visibility and utilization of library services. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data was collected through observation of Instagram posts, structured interviews with library account managers, and documentation of engagement data such as the number of likes, comments, shares, and followers. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis of promotional content and engagement measurement to assess the effectiveness of digital promotion. The results of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the role of Instagram as a promotional medium for specialized libraries, as well as serve as material for evaluation and recommendations in the development of social media-based library service promotion strategies that are more optimal, communicative, and in line with the needs of library users in the digital age.
