TINJAUAN LITERATURE EFEKTIVITAS FUNCTIONAL FAMILY THERAPY( (FFT) DALAM MENGURANGI MASALAH PERILAKU REMAJA

This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of Functional Family Therapy (FFT) in reducing adolescent behavioral problems. Adolescence is a vulnerable developmental stage marked by emotional instability, identity exploration, and increased risk of externalizing behaviors such as aggression, delinquency, bullying, and recidivism. FFT is a family-based, behavioral, and systemic intervention developed to improve family functioning through structured phases of engagement, behavior change, and generalization. This study reviewed 10 selected national and international journals published in relevant periods, focusing on FFT, family therapy, and behavioral interventions for adolescents. The findings indicate that FFT is consistently effective in reducing behavioral problems and criminal recidivism, particularly when therapist adherence to the treatment model is high. FFT demonstrates comparable effectiveness to other evidence-based interventions such as Multisystemic Therapy, while offering strong adaptability within community, juvenile justice, and correctional settings. Overall, FFT represents a comprehensive, evidence-based family intervention with significant potential for application in the Indonesian context to improve adolescent mental health and behavioral outcomes.
