Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of Law Number 3 of 2017 concerning the Book System in the preparation of poetry material in the Indonesian Language textbook for the 8th grade of the Merdeka Curriculum. The main focus of the study is how the quality standards mandated by regulations, including content standards, presentation, design, and graphics, are integrated into teaching materials for the writing and speaking elements. Using literature study methods and a descriptive-qualitative approach, data were collected thru documentation of legislation and related academic literature. Content analysis is used to synthesize the relationship between legal rules and pedagogical innovations. The research results show that the implementation of book quality standards can bridge the artistic expression freedom of students with systematic learning objectives. This alignment ensures that poetry materials not only highlight esthetic beauty and contemporary creativity but are also legally validated and free from negative content. Thru regular supervision and adaptive content evaluation, textbooks serve as a strategic instrument to build an accountable literacy ecosystem. The conclusion of the research emphasizes that the standardization of textbooks is not a hindrance to creativity, but rather a professional guideline for producing high-quality, ethical, and relevant educational materials for students in line with the times.
