Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VII.2 students at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang by implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model combined with a Culturally Responsive Teaching. This research is classroom action research with research subjects totaling 36 students in class VII.2 at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang. This research was conducted because the learning outcomes of students in class VII.2 were low. Data collection techniques are observation and tests. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. In cycle I, only 12 students had completed their studies with a percentage of 33%, while 24 other students had not completed their studies with a percentage of 66%. In cycle II, 31 students had completed their studies with a percentage of 86%, while 5 other students had not completed their studies with a percentage of 16%. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with a Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) can improve student learning outcomes.
