Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of learning load on student academic achievement. Learning load is measured by the number of course credits taken each semester and the types of extracurricular activities participated in. A literature study was conducted to analyze related theories that can explain the relationship between learning load and academic achievement. This research is important because it can provide new insights into the factors that influence student academic achievement, especially in the context of learning load. This research method involves analysis of related literature studies and synthesis of relevant information. The results of the analysis show that there is a correlation between learning load and student academic achievement. Students who take on heavier learning loads tend to have lower academic achievement, especially if the load is unbalanced or exceeds their capacity. These findings provide practical implications in curriculum development and academic management in higher education, by emphasizing the importance of balancing learning loads to improve student achievement.
