Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Implentation of the Jigsaw type Cooperative Learning model in enhancing the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Cukir 1 in Indonesian language lessons. The Jigsaw method encourages students to collaborate in small groups, teach each other the material, and take responsibility for their own understanding. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Jigsaw model significantly improves student participation and speaking skills. Students displayed a positive attitude towards this learning method and felt more confident in expressing their opinions. Although there are challenges, especially for students with low self-esteem, teacher support plays a crucial role in overcoming these obstacles. The study concludes that the Jigsaw model is an effective strategy for enhancing students' speaking skills and can be applied in other learning contexts. It is hoped that the results of this research will contribute to the development of teaching methods in elementary schools.
