Abstract

The lack of student activity in learning mathematics is one of the challenges in the world of basic education. Animated storytelling media based on the Canva application is one of the innovations in increasing student activity. This research aims to determine the effect of using animated storytelling media on the activity of grade 3 students in Mathematics at SDN Purisemanding 1. The research method used is quantitative with a one-shot case study design. The research sample consisted of grade 3 students at SDN Purisemanding 1. Data was collected through questionnaires and observation of student activity during learning. The results of the research show that the use of Canva-based animated storytelling media has a significant effect on increasing student activity. This can be seen from the increase in students' activeness scores after being given treatment. Thus, Canva-based animated storytelling media can be an effective alternative in increasing student activity in Mathematics learning in elementary schools.
