Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic religiosity on customers’ preferences for Islamic banking, with commitment and materialism serving as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was conducted on 100 Islamic bank customers in Malang City and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings reveal that intrinsic and extrinsic religiosity positively influence commitment and materialism. Furthermore, commitment and materialism positively affect customer preferences in choosing Islamic banks. These results indicate that customer preferences are shaped not only by religiosity but also by commitment and perceived economic benefits. Therefore, Islamic banks should strengthen the promotion of Islamic values and improve the quality of their products and services to enhance customer preferences.
