Peningkatan Sarana Pembelajaran melalui Program Bantuan Sosial pada Panti Asuhan Aur Pakan Kamis

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the learning environment of children through social assistance at Aur Pakan Kamis Orphanage, Syech Mhd. Yoesoef Foundation, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. The program involved 15 orphanage children and was implemented by lecturers and students from Paramitha Tourism Academy Bukittinggi and Haji Agus Salim Institute of Business and Technology Bukittinggi. A participatory approach was applied through preliminary observation, discussions, and needs assessment with the orphanage management before distributing learning facilities and basic food packages. The program also included a religious lecture and social interaction with the children. The results indicated that the assistance improved the comfort of the learning environment, increased children's motivation to study and participate in religious learning activities, and strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and the local community. This program represents the implementation of the university's community service mission by providing tangible benefits for educational improvement and social welfare while fostering social responsibility and community engagement among lecturers and students.
