IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM KERJA KKN MELALUI REVITALISASI IKATAN REMAJA MASJID SEBAGAI WADAH PEMBINAAN AKHLAKUL KARIMAH DAN PENGUATAN KETAHANAN DIRI PEMUDA DI NAGORI NANGGAR BAYU, KECAMATAN BOSAR MALIGAS, KABUPATEN SIMALUNGUN

Abstract

The Student Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of student service to the community that offers an opportunity to apply knowledge gained during academic studies to real-life community settings. A key focus during the KKN implementation is the development of the younger generation through religious and social activities. Youth play a vital role in the continuity of community life, as they represent the group that will carry forward future development and social life. Therefore, a platform is needed to channel youth activities toward positive, productive, and religiously grounded endeavors. One initiative undertaken by KKN students in Nagori Nanggar Bayu, Bosar Maligas District, Simalungun Regency, was the revitalization of the Mosque Youth Association (IRM). This program was conducted throughout the KKN period, from July 6 to August 10, 2026. The IRM revitalization aimed to reinvigorate adolescent involvement in mosque activities while transforming the mosque into a space for fostering noble character , responsibility, cooperation, and personal resilience among the youth. The program employed a participatory approach, involving KKN students, mosque administrators, religious leaders, and the youth of Nagori Nanggar Bayu. Activities included religious guidance, youth engagement in mosque operations, the strengthening of communal bonds, and providing opportunities for youth to participate in activity planning and execution. The results indicate that revitalizing the IRM serves as an effective means to boost youth participation in religious and social activities within the community. These activities also provided a space for adolescents to learn cooperation, responsibility, and communication skills, while fostering positive habits within the mosque environment. Sustaining the program requires ongoing support from mosque administrators, community leaders, and the youth themselves to ensure that activities continue beyond the conclusion of the KKN period.
