Abstract

Agriculture is one of the key sectors supporting the livelihoods of rural communities, including the residents of Gondangrawe Village, Andong Subdistrict, Boyolali Regency. However, the sustainability of agriculture faces various challenges, including dependence on chemical inputs, rising production costs, declining soil quality, and the suboptimal utilization of local resources as agricultural inputs. Organic farming is one approach that can be developed to create an agricultural system that is more environmentally friendly, efficient in resource use, and sustainable. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Gondangrawe Village community regarding the concept of organic farming and to encourage the adoption of green agricultural practices through the use of organic materials available in the surrounding environment. The activity was carried out through extension sessions, interactive discussions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Workshop materials covered the concept of organic farming, the benefits of organic materials for the soil, the production of organic fertilizer, the utilization of agricultural and household waste, an introduction to botanical pesticides, and the implementation of environmentally friendly farming practices. The results of the activity show that the workshop received positive feedback from participants and increased community understanding of the importance of reducing dependence on chemical inputs and utilizing local resources. Hands-on activities provided participants with experience in processing organic materials into agricultural inputs that can be used independently. This activity is expected to serve as a first step in building awareness and capacity among the residents of Gondangrawe Village to implement sustainable green agriculture and support food security and environmental sustainability in the village.
