Abstract

Students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic junior high schools) represent a segment of the younger generation that plays a pivotal role in shaping Indonesia's current and future development. Young people are adept at integrating technological changes into various aspects of their lives; for them, using technology is as natural as breathing. Consequently, the younger generation dominates social media usage in Indonesia. In recent years, phenomena such as hoaxes and cyberbullying have become prevalent, particularly among the youth—a demographic characterized by growth, development, and the search for identity, making them highly susceptible to external influences, whether positive or negative. These issues often stem from a lack of digital literacy skills among the current generation. Schools serve as vital educational institutions for imparting knowledge about digital literacy to young people. Therefore, the community service team from the Public Administration Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tadulako University, decided to conduct an outreach program focused on "Educational Social Media Use Among Students." This initiative aims to provide insights into digital literacy, enabling participants to grasp its concepts and utilize social media as a platform for disseminating informative and educational content. The information will be conveyed through an outreach session. Through this activity, the community service team hopes to enhance students' skills and foster more educational social media usage habits.
